A little more about our center:
Southview Manor (formerly Southview Care) is an inner-city skilled nursing facility (SNF) with 5 floors and an average census of 160 . We have and multiple levels of care, including long term care and a large behavioral health (formerly indigent) population.
- 5 Star Quality measure
- The average age of our patients is 35-55 and the most common diagnoses are schizophrenia, bi-polar and major depressive disorders.
- Many are able to age in place, and about 25% return to the community.
- We have several programs encouraging engagement, but the most popular spot in our center is the game room.
- We love new grads and work with students from multiple schools/universities in the area.
- The Metra and the Green Line are just a few blocks away

Job Description
What you will do in this role: Dietary Manager / Dietary Director
You have the ability to impact our patient’s lives on a daily basis by influencing the nourishment we provide them. This is an important role that we take seriously. Providing a home like environment includes the provision of tasty, nutritional and appealing food. It can be highlight of their day.
You will manage a team, do the menu planning, manage and order stock, adhere to IDPH regulations and jump in where needed to add hands-on support. It’s a big job in a very busy commercial kitchen.
- In our facility we feel the Certified Dietary Manager is pivotal to the recovery & dietary needs of our patient/resident.

Qualifications
Certified Dietary Director: officially we title this job a Certified Dietary Director (CDM), but in other centers it may be called a Cuisine Care Manager, Dietary Services Manager, Director of Dining Services, Food Service Manager, or Director of Food and Nutrition Services. Whatever you call it, it’s an important job!
What we need from you:
- CDM - Certified Dietary Manager Certification
- Prior experience as a Food Services Director in a medical facility or central kitchen is ideal
- Relevant ServSafe & sanitation certifications
- Nutritional certification is ideal, but not required
- Culinary training highly desirable, but not required
