Responsibilities:

What you'll be challenged to do:
TranSystems, is looking for a Survey CADD Technician who will work directly with surveyors, engineers, and other technicians to assist in the development of survey plats, base maps and construction documents for a variety of projects in the private, state, municipal and federal sectors.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for the production of maps and drawings
  • Responsible for accurate calculations in support of construction staking
  • Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.
  • Must be available to travel and work overtime occasionally.

Qualifications:
What you bring to our firm:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ recent experience with AutoCAD
  • Experience processing survey field data and developing drawings for survey projects
  • Experience with G.S. 47-30 and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys mapping requirements
  • Works well within a team environment
  • Works well under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently or in a team setting
  • Ability to adapt to changing software/hardware platforms
  • Experience with MicroStation/Bentley products or the willingness to learn
  • Operate standard office equipment (i.e., personal computer, facsimile, copy machine, etc.)
  • Operate standard field equipment from time to time (i.e., total station, GPS, data collector, etc)
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
  • Actively advocates for full inclusion in the workplace, fostering an environment that welcomes diversity and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and the communities that TranSystems serves.

Physical/Mental Demands:
  • Talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds daily
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (Zoom, Teams, Phone, etc) and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at the same time

Work Environment:

  • The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and frequenctly exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, talk or hear, and drive a bucket truck or a pickup. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
