JOB DESCRIPTION
The Electromechanical Technician is a staff position within the Product department and is accountable for ensuring continuity of TraXtion technology and office computer systems providing the technical expertise, assistance and to install computer hardware and software products, modify/repair hardware and resolve technical problems.
Essential Functions

- Reads routing and performs work as assigned by department supervisor
- Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
- Identifies and procures the hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements.
- Installs hardware and peripheral components such as but not limited to monitors, tablets, printers and disk drives on users’ premises.
- Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking infrastructure, and office applications.
- Assists in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users’ requirements.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
- Assist warehouse as needed.
- Assure continuity of the computer system for all system users.
- Research software products and applicability to organizational environment.
- Repair hardware as necessary.
- Administers e-mail and anti-virus systems
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in TraXtion technology.
- Provide technical assistance and advice to users as needed.
- Recommend changes in software and hardware to improve computer capabilities.
- Assist in implementing practices that will more effectively utilize TraXtion resources.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. Some weekends and overtime are required.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED
- 2 or more years of experience as a computer specialist.
- 2 years of networking experience
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Relevant software certifications.
2. Associates degree or higher.
3. 5 years of networking infrastructure.
