What are the responsibilities and job description for the FUND CONTROLLER position at TRD Advisors LLC?
Our client, a global private equity real estate fund manager with over $10B AUM, located in Manhattan, is looking to hire an Assistant Controller and Controller. The client is looking for accountants with 6 to 13 years of experience working with private equity or real estate private equity funds. Candidates must have a strong understanding of accounting concepts associated with private equity funds, ideally funds focused on real estate. This position will require people to be in the office 5 days but if work is done correctly more flexibility is possible. This is a very important hire for the firm and the position will require extensive interaction with senior management of the firm. Compensation can get to $300k for the position, based on relevant on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Review quarterly workpaper packages, waterfalls, financial statements and capital account statements prepared by the Fund Administrator for multiple Fund entities
- Review Fund cash position and manage liquidity
- Interact with auditors and tax preparers as needed
- Review tax workpaper packages, K1s and other tax schedules received from the tax preparers
- Work with the Management Company accounting group
- Liaise with Investor Relations and Fund Raising teams to address investor inquiries
- Work with the Portfolio Management team on IRRs and other reporting
- Review and allocate expense invoices and assist with accounts payable processing
- Assist with ad hoc projects
Requirements:
- Private Equity/Hedge Fund Accounting experience; Real Estate and/or Operating Company experience a plus
- Big Four Public accounting experience preferred
- CPA preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
- Strong work ethic, initiative and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel and Word
- Accounting system experience a strong plus
Salary : $175,000 - $225,000
