Automation Project Manager

Trelleborg Medical Solutions is seeking a Automation Project Manager to join the Delano, MN team. Provide primary project leadership and voice of (internal) customer representation to automation development activities in regard to the schedule, budget, and technical facets. The automation team designs and develops the systems for manufacturing our products, both for improving current manufacturing as well as systems for new product development. The Automation Project Manager will be the first point of contact for new automation projects, assist in scoping, conceptualizing, and budgeting, as well as leading the project once in motion.

Education and Experience

Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management or 10 years related equivalent education/experience
• Experience in custom automation
• High technical acumen
• High mechanical aptitude

Desired:
• Experience in polymer-related field performing the essential job functions listed above
• Experience working with cross departmental teams
• Experience leading projects and teams across multiple sites

Senior Automation Project Manager: (including all the above)
Required:
• Estimated 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with cross-departmental teams
• Experience leading projects and teams across multiple sites
• Strong leadership and problem solving skills

Tasks and Responsiblites: 

• Manages automation projects developing new equipment for multiple sites working with a harmonized design team
• Facilitates/leads regular project updates/conference calls with customer
• Leads design reviews with the automation team and internal customers/stakeholders
• Manages internal cross-functional resources ensuring completion of assigned deliverables
• Provides technical support for quoting new systems
• Participates in on/off-site technical discussions/DFM reviews with manufacturing and NPD teams
• Works with purchasing to identify outside suppliers for purchased items and outside services as required
• Develops and manages project timelines

• Participates in cross-functional development and review/approval of manufacturing and quality documentation
• High technical aptitude to understanding projects, design intent, and risk
Senior Automation Project Manager:
• Provides mentorship and guidance for junior project managers
• Demonstrates understanding of all business competencies
• Successfully leads and manages multiple high-profile, complex and high stake projects simultaneously
• Develop and implement project strategies and roadmaps.
• Evaluate and select automation technologies.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on automation initiatives

Travel: Up to 20% domestic between sites 

Salary info: Starting at $98k and up based on experience
