General Purpose: The Club Controller is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial statements, reports, forecasts and analyses, complying with company accounting policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with internal reporting requirements.
Essential Duties:
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly and year-end financial statements, reports and forecasts, as well as year-end audit and tax packages required by company policy and reviewed with management.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures, and HOA statutes. Meet all management agreement reporting deadlines.
- Analyze/prepare detailed variance explanations.
- Prepare and post month/year-end/audit journal entries to general ledger.
- Prepare month-end work papers, including balance sheet reconciliations and revenue, and expense analyses.
- Review accounts receivable aging reports and collections results; understand and report on cash flow implications.
- Oversee the processing of invoices to ensure the accurate and timely payment of all vendors and subcontractors in accordance with contracts and budgets.
- Review bank reconciliations for operating, capital contribution and reserve accounts. Review the reconciliations of credit card transactions.
- Validate inventory records and reporting.
- Responsible for cash management maintenance and reporting.
- Maintain chart of accounts and orderly accounting filing systems.
- Serve as a trusted information resource to Club and HOA department heads, management and officers/Board of Directors.
- Coordinate budgets and monitor annually. Assist in development and monitoring of general and administrative budgets. Review budgets monthly with senior management.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- 5 years relevant country club accounting experience in a supervisory capacity.
- HOA experience is a plus.
- Public Accounting experience is a plus.

- Frequently sits, use hands, reaches with arms and hands, talks or hears.
- Occasionally stands, walks, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches.
- Occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences
- Ability to read and speak English in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates are required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of property management system.
- Present financial materials both orally and in writing.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely and possess excellent interpersonal skills to interact with contacts at all levels of the organization, internal and external.
- Ability to perform tasks with professionalism and high level of confidentiality.
- Detail Oriented.
- Experience with Northstar is a plus.
- Familiarity with online banking products and third-party accounts payable applications, a plus.
