Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate submission of claims, and maintaining patient records. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate medical office environments effectively.
Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical billing claims accurately and timely to insurance companies and patients.
- Review patient records for completeness and accuracy before billing.
- Utilize knowledge of ICD-10 coding systems to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and conducting medical collections as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) guidelines and changes in medical billing regulations.
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to medical billing practices.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation in accordance with company policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical billing or a similar role within a medical office setting.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10), and DRG guidelines.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
- Certification in Medical Billing or Coding is preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
