TITLE: Middle School Band Teacher, beginning the 2025-26 school year.
JOB SUMMARY: Directs and managesa solid band program of over 400 students for our intermediate and middle school band program for the district with an opportunity for HS Marching Band. Plans high-quality musical opportunities to achieve district, region, and state recognition. Provides students with an opportunity to participate in band activities. Collaborates with other band directors in the district to maintain vertical alignment of the overall band program.

Minimum Qualifications
- Credential – Any valid credential issued by the State of Indiana to perform the services of a teacher in a self-contained classroom.
- Education – Bachelor’s degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirements.
- Personal Qualities – Appearance, grooming, and personality which establish a desirable example for students. Ability to meet district standards for physical and mental health. Highly recommended by student teaching supervisors or other professionals who have observed the personal characteristics, scholastic attainment, and classroom performance of the teacher.
- Directs middle school band performances.
- Provide learning experiences in band utilizing course of study mandated by the Tri-Creek School Corporation.
- Organizes and implements band trips in accordance with district policy and regulations as well as student interest and ability.
- Follow the criteria established in the Teacher Evaluation Plan
- Instruct students in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements of the course of study specified in state law, administrative regulations, or set by the Tri-Creek School Corporation
- Plan, organize, and implement differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students
- Establish and implement clear objectives for each lesson
- Engage students in meaningful activities to assure student mastery of content
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student performance
- Confer with parents and colleagues to address student academic and behavioral needs
- Establish and implement classroom rules and procedures to provide an environment conducive to learning
- Interact with colleagues, parents, and students in a manner that is professional and reflects the expectations of leadership within the school and corporation
- Follow all expectations described in the faculty handbook
- Follow all procedures and expectations established by the building principal and /or corporation leadership
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills necessary to deal tactfully and effectively with persons at all levels in order to develop and maintain productive relationships with all public
- Ability to learn new skills quickly and assimilate them into daily work
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality both inside and outside the corporation
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task with attention to detail
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes in the normal day and expectations
- Proficiency in the use of all technology for instruction and record keeping
- Proficiency in the use of and the ability to learn required instructional software
