What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Painter/Blaster position at Tri-State Machine?
Operate spray painting and sandblasting equipment to apply protective coatings and paints to fabricated utility piping and structural steel material.
Duties:
· Select the appropriate paint or mix paints according to a predetermined formula per manufacture and or customer specifications
· Operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, and or sandblast to remove corrosion, otherwise prepare fabricated steel & cast steel/iron items for application of paint and or other protective coatings
· Operate spray, dip, and flow coating equipment or other painting or product coating equipment as required
· Paint small and large items and apply touch-ups
· Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment
· Organize and Identify with ID numbers painted/blasted parts
· Take environmental reading prior to and during the painting process
· Ability to fill out documentation related to painted parts & inspections
· Operate overhead cranes and or forklifts
Physical Requirements:
· Frequent lifting (up to and including 50 pounds)
· Frequent standing
· Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments as required
Experience/Education:
· 3 years of experience
· Some vocational / technical training is desired
