Purpose and objective:
As a leader in the manufacturing of Vertical Form Fill and Seal machines, Triangle relies on the efficiency of its Warehouse to meet our customers’ needs. We consider our warehouse a critical part of our overall operations as it serves both the needs of internal as well as external customers. The Warehouse Operations Manager oversees our Headquarters facility located in Chicago. This manager will oversee receiving, handling, storing, picking, shipping as well as other warehouse functions to meet or exceed operational goals. The goal of the Warehouse Operations Manager is to achieve inventory accuracy, coordinate order fulfillment tasks, and maintain department budget. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented and able to manage multiple facets of warehouse operations simultaneously.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency — with customer satisfaction the primary goal — by supervising, organizing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals
- Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, gate processes, and shipping methods
- Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short and long-term performance goals
- Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics
- Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with safety regulations
- Manage department budget with full accountability for labor, order and department consumables on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Manage employees’ performance including but not limited to attendance, PTO, reviews and documentation
- Work directly with Production Planning and Purchasing department to meet delivery dates for customer orders
Other Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service
- Schedule and oversee warehouse team, and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime
- Meet regularly with warehouse staff to analyze productivity and develop actionable plans for loss prevention.
- Meet regularly with operations managers to ensure customer orders are shipped in a timely manner.
- Establish warehouse and team goals in collaboration with executive management
- Work with Continuous Improvement group to maximize department performance, quality and overall department functions
- Manage standards for quality control and inspections before order is shipped to vendors or customers
Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience:
The right candidate for this position will exhibit the following traits:
- 5 years of leadership experience in warehouse management
- Experience working in a union warehouse is preferred
- In-depth understanding of Industry best practices for warehouse functions
- Proficient in scheduling and creating reports
- Familiar with ERP and inventory management software
- Excellent written and oral communication skills: Able to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization with the ability to identify and clarify missing information or unclear requirements proactively.
- Act with a sense of urgency, while maintaining a high standard of quality of work.
- Proficiency with MS office products (Excel, OneNote, Word…etc.)
Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
