GENERAL SUMMARY: We are seeking a Claims Manager with a strong background in trucking safety to join our team. This role is crucial to managing and overseeing the processing of accidents and the claims process to ensure the procedure is managed efficiently, accurately, and in a manner that protects the interests of the insured parties. The Claims Manager will serve as a liaison between clients, adjusters, service providers, and other parties who may be involved in a claim or an incident.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Assists in incident, accident and cargo claim investigations.
- Completes incident, accident, and cargo intake documentation in a timely fashion.
- Performs data analysis on accident and violation information (e.g., HOS) to determine focus areas for prevention and risk management.
· Conduct incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and follow-up for all vehicle accidents involving company personnel and/or equipment.
· Conductions Accident investigations and follow through.
· Fully manages the process of claims pertaining to accidents.
· Monitors all claims and coordinates with the employees, managers, insurance representatives, HR, and attorneys.
· Communicates necessary information to involved parties (including HR), including notifications of hearings, outcomes, return to work, restrictions, etc.
· Ensures that we operate in full accordance with the FMCSR and stays current with changes; provides updates on important regulation/industry changes.
· Review pending and upcoming changes to federal & state DOT trucking regulations to ensure the company is prepared for future compliance requirements.
· Seek out industry best practices and more effective and efficient methods to achieve operational excellence in incident prevention and DOT trucking compliance.
· Assists with fielding Safety Group in-bound phone calls. Examples may include but are not limited to the following: Cargo issues, Motoring public issues, Vendor issues, DOT Hours of Service issues, DOT physicals, Drug screen issues.
· Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department operates in an efficient manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Experience in Logistics or related field preferred.
· Two years of claims experience required.
· Knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
· Ability to think on your feet and provide creative problem solutions.
· Strong leadership and organization with the ability to direct and achieve priorities, goals, and strategies.
· Above average computer skills.
· Ability to manage confidential information.
