Your Role:
As a Student Success Advisor, you will support and guide students throughout their educational journey at TUBC. You'll be instrumental in enhancing their academic experience, ensuring they feel supported and equipped to achieve their personal and professional goals. Your role is key in fostering a positive learning environment and maintaining high retention rates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with students to ensure a sense of community and belonging.
- Provide one-on-one coaching to support students in their academic progress and career aspirations.
- Monitor student attendance and performance, and take proactive measures to address any challenges.
- Assist students with utilizing academic resources and services available to them.
- Collaborate with instructors to identify at-risk students and develop action plans for their success.
- Conduct orientation sessions and workshops to prepare students for their educational experience.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions, progress, and outcomes.
- Organize and facilitate student engagement activities and events.
- A bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in student advising or a similar role, preferably in the beauty or education industry.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- A strong understanding of students' needs and challenges in an academic setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and administrative staff.
- Demonstrated ability to develop action plans and monitor progress effectively.
- Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities.
- Passion for helping students succeed and a genuine interest in the beauty industry.
