Role Overview
As a Clinical Assessor, you will play a crucial role in helping clients take the first step toward healing. You’ll conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to determine the appropriate level of care and develop personalized treatment plans. Your expertise will guide clients toward the support and resources they need to thrive. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments, including diagnostic evaluations, psychosocial assessments, and risk assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs and goals.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to assess mental health and substance use disorders.
- Provide clinical recommendations for the appropriate level of care and necessary interventions.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless client care.
- Engage clients and families in the assessment process, fostering understanding and trust.
- Maintain accurate, detailed and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all regulatory requirements.
- Participate in team meetings and training to stay up to date with best practices and standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Current clinical licensure in Virginia (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) in good standing required.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience conducting clinical assessments in a mental health or substance use treatment setting.
- Skills:
- Strong diagnostic and clinical assessment skills.
- Ability to develop tailored, evidence-based treatment plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of professionalism and ethical integrity.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Other: A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to maintain a working cell phone.
Work Environment
The Clinical Assessor role is primarily based in a clinical office setting. The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods, engage in verbal and written communication, an use a computer and other standard office equipment. Flexibility in scheduling, including evening or weekend hours, may be required to accommodate client and program needs. Occasional travel to off-site locations for client assessments or meetings may also be necessary.
