Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Provider/Administrative Assistant to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and possess the skills necessary to support their development and well-being. This role involves caring for children of various ages, including infants and toddlers, while promoting their emotional, social, and cognitive growth. It will also include helping to ensure the center is following state regulations and duties.
Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Ensure the safety of each child enrolled in the class whether in the classroom, on the playground, or in common areas.
- Serve as a role model for the children in the areas of attitude, speech and actions on a daily basis.
- Treat each child with dignity and respect.
- Communicate directly with each child at the child's level.
- Encourage children’s development in the areas of building self-confidence, problem solving, and taking responsibility for their actions.
- Nurture positive relationships with parents and establish continual communication.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Positive, informative and courteous communication with parents, teachers and children.
- Answer the phone and take messages.
- Answer questions about your center
- Give tours to prospective parents if the Director is unavailable.
- Greet visitors.
- Supervise children’s entry/exit at your child care center.
- Works closely with the director/administrator on bookkeeping and record-keeping, as well as yearly review and revisions of policies & procedures
- Support all staff by arranging meetings, preparing memos and directing communications.
- May take on child care duties such as meal preparation and classroom supervision if unplanned absence and no one else is available.
- Ready to stand in for the other child care positions if necessary due to regular breaks, planned absence or emergency.
- Needs to have a strong customer service aptitude to help meet parents’ and children’s needs.
- Help with records keeping: Fire Drills, Severe weather drills, Fire Extinger Training, and more as the need arises
Requirements:
- Maintain Confidentiality at all times.
- Staff must believe in and act in accordance with the program's mission statements.
- Early Childhood Education is preferred.
- Must meet Wisconsin State requirements and Child Care Certifications are necessary - may be obtained through degree.
- WI Registry Certificate.
- CPR/First Aid, SIDS/Abusive Head Trauma certified or be willing to obtain.
- Must meet annual continuing education requirements.
- Health exam, background check, fingerprint and TB test required. (DOJ, FBI, & Child Abuse clearance).
- Ability to perform physical labor as needed for position.
- Participate in requested staff meetings and development programs at the center and obtain yearly and/or ongoing training as required by licensing and/or center management.
- Report all staffing and classroom concerns to the Director in a timely manner.
- Complete and report any symptoms of child abuse to the Director and CPS (as a mandated reporter).
- Maintain continued education to keep a degree (15 hours for each year).
- Attend yearly performance evaluations.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour
