Accounting Specialist
The Accounting Specialist will oversee the coordination of company financial activities, including daily accounting functions and bookkeeping functions. In this position, the Accounting Specialist will ensure that company accounting procedures conform to generally-accepted accounting principles. This role will play a critical part in managing the company's profitability and cash flow, ensuring sustained liquidity, business growth, and the financial well-being of all stakeholders through the accurate and timely execution of essential accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities
- * Oversee daily accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including accounts receivable/payable, invoice collection, bank and expense reconciliations, and payment processing
- * Manage all payroll functions, including tax filings, benefits administration, and compliance with employment tax regulations
- * Monitor and manage company cash flow, preparing reports to provide Management insights for decision-making
- * Collaborate with Project Managers to track job costs, ensure profitability, and generate job costing reports to ensure Target goals are hit
- * Prepare and maintain periodic financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting standards
- * Assist the external CPA with business income tax preparation and other required local, state, and federal filings
- * Support management in financial statement analysis and operational performance tracking to ensure KPI’s are achieved and performance metrics tracked
Assist in the development and management of monthly, quarterly, and annual operating budgets to support financial planning and growth
Ideal candidates will possess:
- * Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Small-Medium sized business accounting. A plus if candidate possess accounting experience relating to the restoration, construction, or other project management driven industries
- * Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- * Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software, with experience using Excel for custom financial reporting and data analysis
- * Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with Clients, Vendors, and Stakeholders. Experience in negotiating vendor payment terms, administering expense protocols, and obtaining payment funds on AR.
- * Organizational Skills: Highly organized and capable of managing Job Costing systems and ensuring cohesion across accounting systems; a strong attention to detail with a passion for business and numbers
- * Leadership Skills: A strategic thinker with the ability to present and defend your opinions; Demonstrated ability to direct others in the company accounting procedures and processes
