ESL Instructor Position
We are seeking an experienced ESL instructor to join our Adult Education department at Triton College.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Teach English as a Second Language (ESL) courses to students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Utilize active learning and student success strategies in the classroom.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge in teaching area, including licenses, training, and certificates as applicable.
- Instruct students in the facts and skills pertaining to assigned courses.
- Support students with general and special needs, and refer them to other college support services when necessary.
- Electronically submit syllabi to the appropriate department or division office.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; Master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Adult Education, or a related field preferred.
- Previous teaching experience in ESL, Literacy, or Adult Education is preferred.
- Knowledge of second language acquisition theories.
- Technology and digital literacy proficiency.
Additional Information:
This is an adjunct faculty position. The rate of pay is $48.42 per hour. Official transcripts are required prior to employment. The recommended candidate for hire will be subject to pre-employment screenings. Triton College is an AA/EOE employer.
