OpenRoad Collision is actively recruiting for an experienced and certified Human Resources Director to join our growing collision repair company in Chandler, AZ. The ideal candidate will oversee all HR functions, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and employee satisfaction. The Human Resource Director will demonstrate expertise in open enrollments, including reference-based pricing insurance plans, self-insured health plans, and the administration of lag and aggregate (agg) reports. Additionally, the HR Director must be skilled in 401(k) administration, safety program implementation, skill enhancement programs, and the management of our apprentice development program. Familiarity with commission-based blue collar pay structures is also essential.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor for employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with company goals.
- Maintain confidentiality and act with integrity in all HR-related matters.
- Assist in deescalating employee issues and conflicts to foster a positive work environment.
- Oversee and manage the open enrollment process, ensuring smooth transitions and employee education.
- Administer and manage benefits programs, including a reference-based pricing insurance plan and self-insured health plans.
- Utilize Employee Navigator to manage employee benefits, enrollments, and compliance reporting.
- Analyze and oversee lag and aggregate reports for health insurance plan management.
- Act as a liaison between employees and insurance providers to address concerns and questions.
- Develop and oversee recruitment strategies to attract top talent in the collision repair industry.
- Implement onboarding programs to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
- Manage skill enhancement programs to promote employee growth and retention.
- Oversee and enhance our apprentice development program to cultivate future talent.
- Foster a culture of engagement, retention, and professional development.
- Provide insights and strategy around a commission-based blue-collar pay plan. HR Operations & Administration:
- Maintain employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Organize and manage the company’s HRIS system to streamline HR processes, data accuracy, and reporting.
- Administer and manage the company’s 401(k) plan, including compliance, enrollments, and employee education.
- Implement and track key HR metrics to improve workforce efficiency and engagement.
- Develop, implement, and manage workplace safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and industry standards.
- Conduct safety training, audits, and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
- HR Certification required (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a leadership role.
- Experience managing open enrollments, specifically with reference-based pricing insurance plans and self-insured health plans.
- Proficiency with Employee Navigator for benefits management and enrollment processes.
- Experience managing lag and aggregate reports for health insurance plans.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and benefits administration.
- Experience administering and managing 401(k) plans.
- Ability to implement and oversee safety programs and compliance measures.
- Proven success in developing and managing skill enhancement and apprenticeship programs.
- Familiarity with commission-based blue-collar pay structures.
- Experience organizing and managing an HRIS system.
- Ability to deescalate employee issues and manage workplace conflicts effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with management teams.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
