To build upon a track record of growth and success, we are seeking a Pilot Plant Technician out of Dexter, MI. An ideal candidate is someone with mechanical and electrical shop experience who is able to work independently on pilot equipment and perform maintenance as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Carry out accurate experiments on bench unit and pilot unit.
- Operation of valves, pumps, motor, mixers, chilling plant, etc.
- Electrical & Plumbing, maintenance and hook up of pumps, equipment, mixer, chiller, etc.
- Basic lab analysis such as pH measurements, dry weight calculation
- Maintain mathematical accuracy of measurements and experiment data recording.
- Identification and troubleshooting of unusual parameters/equipment functioning.
- Parts ordering.
- Movement of materials.
- Proper housekeeping of pilot plant area.
- Understand safety procedures of handling wet/dry chemicals and compressed gases.
- Perform other related duties or special projects.
- Comply with all aspects of the Trucent safety program, including but not limited to hazard communication, PPE requirements and attending quarterly safety training.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics.
Position Qualifications:
Education:
Requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years of technical experience in order to gain sufficient skill to perform the requirements of the position.
Skills and Abilities, which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:
- Good personal communication skills and ability to work well with others and outside vendors.
- General knowledge of skill trades including mechanical, plumbing and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong mechanical and chemical handling aptitude.
- Problem identification and resolution skills.
- Effective time management skills and attention to detail.
- Basic familiarity with PCs.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Perform reading, writing and speaking at a basic level.
- Perform the basic functions of arithmetic; add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure. Demonstrate a basic understanding of specifications, blueprints, manuals and mechanical drawings and have a general understanding of analytical methods.
- Ability to apply rational principles to solve practical problems and deal with several concrete variables in standardized situations and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Travel Requirements: 50% local travel in a company provided vehicle.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Training Required:
- Valid driver's license (Chauffer or CDL license is plus) & acceptable driving record per company Vehicle Policy. Forklift certification (provided by Trucent).
