True Inspection Services is a DBE, MBE, and EDGE certified engineering and construction management firm specializing in construction inspection and management services. Our project experience includes inspection of asphalt and concrete roadways, bridge construction and rehabilitation and coating inspection services. We have provided inspection services to both the public and private sector, including various state departments of transportation, counties, municipalities, and retailers throughout Ohio, Florida, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, and Maryland.
Due to our continued growth, a new opening is available for a Coatings Inspector to assist with our projects in Sandusky!
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection of structural steel coatings, observation of containment, disposal of hazardous waste, surface preparation, coating application, and familiarity with all applicable local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Complete and maintain daily records of field observations.
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and standards.
- Perform material sampling and testing on applicable materials.
- Assist other project management staff with identifying problems and developing viable solutions for consideration.
- Valid driver's license
- Previous coatings inspection experience
- Must be technologically proficient
- Must be able to routinely bend, kneel, climb, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs., and be medically fit to wear a respirator
- Be able to wear a safety harness and lanyard
- Must be able to work in variable weather conditions, including hot/cold, humid/wet, and dry/arid conditions
- ODOT Work Type 26 Structural Steel Painting Course required
- ODOT Work Type 57 Sealing of Concrete Surfaces Course required
- ODOT Prequalified Coatings Inspector required
- And one of the following is required:
- SSPC Bridge Coating Inspector Certification
- SSPC Protective Coatings Inspector Certification
- NACE Coatings Inspector-Level 1, 2, or 3
- High School Diploma or GED in combination
