Truesdell Corporation is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our Western Region team based out of Tempe, Arizona to assist in managing multiple projects. Purchasing Manager Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the distribution of all materials to the appropriate project, in the time required, and at the minimum cost without any delay to the projects.
- Perform the acquisition and management of all materials, tools, supplies and equipment (rentals or purchase) so that adequate inventory/supply is maintained, orders are consolidated, materials and freight costs are minimized and vendor relations continue to improve.
- Prepare Purchase Orders for all acquisitions of materials and services, keep accurate documentation to support every PO and its future payment.
- Supervise the Warehouse ie, inventory, yard staff and runner
- Determine items for inventory, maintain inventory, including minimum order quantities, maximum order quantities, reorder points, in order to maximize discounts, while minimizing freight and carrying costs.
- Obtain quotes, and maintain records of old quotes, for all products and equipment to be used for estimating purposes
- Coordinate all shipping and receiving to ensure accuracy, cost effectiveness, correct material handling and storage, and proper record keeping.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5yrs as a purchasing manager in the construction field or equivalent experience in purchasing
- Negotiation: 1 year (Preferred)
- Purchasing: 3 years (Required)
- Knowledge of products, techniques and procedures
- Quick with math
- Comprehensive understanding of basic inventory control measures
- Comprehensive understanding of time value of money
- Strong negotiation skills
- Persistent follow through
- Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written
- Must maintain a valid drivers license and submit to random drug screens
Compensation and Benefits Package:
- Salary is determined by experience and education, the range for this position is $65k-80k.
