Production Planning Manager
Tandem Foods Production Planning Manager is a self-motivated and results oriented leader overseeing 4 internal manufacturing sites and supervising 1 planning analyst. Primary responsibilities include evaluating customer production requests from multiple customers and turning them into a master production schedule that meets customers' requirements, while maximizing production efficiency. This role maintains close working relationships with internal Business managers, Operations, Finance, and Procurement, to support the continuous flow of production in the manufacturing facilities.
Principal Job Duties:
- Manage tactical production schedules for weeks 1-2, and master production schedules weeks 3-12, with the intent of filling all customer demand requests, while balancing staffing, machine capacity, and production efficiencies.
- Evaluate customer demand allocations, analyze and plans site production schedules based on current and evolving business needs, site capacities, and special equipment or timing needs.
- Collaborate with CPG partners, and provide return plans, inventories, and other metrics back in a variety of ERP systems.
- Organize and facilitate tactical production planning calls, and mid-range master scheduling calls with site operations, business managers, and purchasing.
- Engage with the business team to understand priorities based on demand signals, sales trends, and customer priorities.
- Collaborate with S&OP manager overseeing long range planning, and elevate any mid-range capacity concerns.
- Communicate with manufacturing leaders and make adjustments to the production schedule when necessary.
- Inform critical team members of any extenuating circumstances that could cause service failures.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years of relevant experience in production planning and detailed master scheduling required.
- Experience in leading others preferred.
- Experience with ERP software; prior experience with either Deacom or SAP preferred.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required. Advanced preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in written form.
- Experience with integrated planning/production systems, procurement workflows, and forecasting.
