Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide healthcare services to students, promote health education, and ensure the overall well-being of our school community. This role requires a professional who can integrate health and wellness programs into the daily life of our school while adhering to Catholic values and principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct healthcare services to students, including first aid, medication administration, and managing chronic health conditions.
- Conduct health screenings and assessments, maintaining accurate and confidential health records.
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with special medical needs.
- Promote health education initiatives for students, staff, and parents, addressing topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for students.
- Monitor and manage the school's health policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with state regulations and Catholic teachings.
- Participate in emergency preparedness planning and respond to health-related emergencies.
- Provide guidance and support to staff on health-related issues and promote a healthy school environment.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church is preferred but not required.
