Scope of Position: The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization’s accounting operations. This role involves preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with financial statement preparation, accounts receivables, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting, contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting team. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:  

  • Perform accounting month-end/close processes; independently prepare reconciliations and journal entries and assist with preparations of financial statements 
  • Perform day-to-day accounting functions including A/P, GL and bank reconciliations 
  • Assist in expense reimbursement processing and ensure proper recording and reconciliation 
  • Analyze financial results to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements 
  • Continuously seek ways to optimize existing accounting and business processes through use of automation, thoughtful analysis, and researching best practices in the industry to help scale our processes with our growing business 
  • Support ERP implementation, perform ad hoc reporting and analysis, and assist with additional special projects as needed 
  • Work cross-departmentally to troubleshoot and provide guidance when requested 
  • Participate in corporate compliance functions including financial statement audit, tax and other items as needed 
  • Perform various operational accounting tasks – reconcile payments, record revenue transactions, reconcile invoicing and revenue recognition tracking; ensuring fidelity of internal controls, policies and procedures 
  • Prepare and distribute reporting packages 
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner at all times when dealing with both internal and external customers 


Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Advanced experience with financial ERP systems, required. (NetSuite, Maxio, Salesforce, preferred) 
  • Demonstrated track-record in accounts receivable, vendor portal management, and dunning, required.
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills  
  • Analytical; High attention to detail, organized with exceptional time-management skills 
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels in the organization 


Education/Experience:  

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. required
  • 2 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 1 year in operational accounting role within a high-growth company, required.  
  • Experience working in SaaS and/or with a private equity-backed company. 
  • On track to be CPA certified, preferred.
