Job Description:
TruView BSI, LLC is a top-tier professional Background Screening and Investigative services company headquartered in Long Island, NY. Our growing business, is looking for candidates to join the company as an Finance Assistant for the Finance Department. The Finance Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day tasks in a financial department. They are responsible for ensuring that the organization has their bookkeeping in order for budgets and taxes. A few of the main duties of a finance assistant are data entry into the system, accounts payable tasks, accounts receivable tasks and generating invoices.
Major Responsibilities and/or Essential Functions:
- Preform and execute monthly invoicing and billing tasks
- Contact clients for aging accounts receivables
- Deposit accounts payable
- Tracks vendors and payments
- Creates cash forecast for accounts payable
- Execute company policies to ensure privacy and confidentiality of financial information
- Provide financial documentation for external auditors
- Analyze and interpret financial information and develop spreadsheet reports
- Prepare payments by accruing expenses, assigning account numbers, requesting disbursements, and reconciling accounts
- Assist in financial forecasting and annual budgeting
- Develop and implement accounting procedures; audit procedures and make recommendations, as necessary
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- 1-2 years of previous financial work preferred
- Previous experience in QuickBooks
- Strong knowledge of Excel and Excel functions
- Strong attention to detail
- Familiar with financial/accounting policies and procedures
- Strong reporting skills
- Efficient time management skills
- Confidentiality awareness
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to read and understand technical forms and financial reports
- Complete proficiency in MS Office Suite
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or other related discipline
- High School Diploma with 4 years of related work experience may be substituted for college degree
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
