Position: Drafter / CNC Programmer
Department: Shop Operations
Reports to: Shop Operations Manager
Pay: $20-27 /hr
Job Objective: Develops programs for use with CNC machines. ?Promotes and enhances TSM Metal Works mission to create a community of industry experts committed to supply chain solutions, quality products and superior customer satisfaction.
Skill Summary: Each level skill includes the preceding levels.
? ? ?Level 1 – Early career with basic knowledge of CAM nesting software. Need assistance to optimize with any regularity. Work contributes to the success of the team goals.
? ? ?Level 2 – Skilled in nesting and program ing software. Can post-optimize without assistance. Can work independently with very little supervision. Helps train less experienced members of the team. Key for the success of the team goals.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties?include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Examines and extracts information from the prints or designs made by others and then sets the program to instruct the machines to produce the components.
- Programs the machines to start and stop at the correct points, offsets, and conditional switches.
- Create and implement routine maintenance checklists.
- Provide support during the processing and building process, ensuring that the product is being built correctly and according to specifications.
- Collaborate and cooperate with operators and adjust programs as necessary.
- Adheres to the best practices to maintain a safe worksite and products
- Aids and assists other team members to complete the departments and the company’s goals.
- Works the assigned schedule including any overtime and complies with the company's timekeeping policy.

- Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D drafting software such as SolidWorks.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and the internet.
- Experienced in mechanical drawing and design.
- Speaks fluently, reads, comprehends in the English language.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. Able to convert fractions to decimals and decimals into fractions. Ability to apply the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to make detailed measurements using instruments such as a tape measure and calipers.
- Ability to work independently and to maintain a regular, reliable, and predictable schedule which includes punctuality and adhering to timelines.
- Displays strong organization and time management skills.

Job Posting
TSM Metal Works is a growing sheet metal fabrication company on the Cumberland Plateau. We are looking for an experienced CNC Laser and press brake programmer who is enthusiastic and willing to take the initiative to keep a CNC Fiber Laser and press brake running at maximum output.

Essential Duties:
- Review source CAD files and correct any issues
- Program CNC machines using CNC programming software
- Use MRP system to utilize in stock material efficiently
- Work with laser operator to adjust programs as needed
- Prepare work traveler for shop
- Check cut parts for quality
- Accurately record raw material cut to job
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based upon business needs.

Qualifications
- CNC Fiber Laser programming – 2 years
- Knowledge of 2d and 3d CAD software.
- Knowledge of various types of metal.
- Attendance, Shift Punctuality
- Able to read tape measure, and calipers
- Basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) by hand or using a calculator
- Regularly lift 25lbs or more
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Day shift is Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. The typical week is scheduled for 40-45 hours.
