Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sushi preparation and presentation, although we are willing to train the right candidate. Must be committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This role is essential in delivering an exceptional dining experience in our casual dining establishment, where creativity and attention to detail are paramount.
Duties
- Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry.
- Ensure all food safety guidelines are strictly followed, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain inventory of sushi ingredients, placing orders as necessary to ensure freshness.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi techniques and food safety practices.
- Stay updated on culinary trends related to sushi and Japanese cuisine to enhance menu offerings.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques specific to the dietary department is a plus.
- Proficient in the use of kitchen knives and other culinary tools essential for sushi preparation.
- A passion for creating innovative dishes that delight guests while adhering to traditional methods.
