Leading electrical & architectural sign company Tube Art Group is looking for a motivated and experienced Signage Consultant - Outside Sales to join our outstanding team in Portland! The outside sales rep in this position will be offered a base salary of $50,000/year, plus a commission percentage of their overall sales.

The Signage Consultant - Outside Sales is responsible for generating new client relationships and producing sales, as well as managing the success and health of client relationships. They work closely with internal teams to ensure clients’ marketing themes are transformed into visual assets that support their brand message and improve visibility. This position is responsible for producing and submitting proposals, designs, contractor bids, and other documents to clients. Compensation will include salary and commission, based largely on experience.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work directly under supervision of the Sales Manager.
  • Conduct sales activities aligned with Tube Art's mission and strategic objectives, focusing on generating new sales, enhancing industry presence, and expanding market share.
  • Identify prospects, generate leads, and develop opportunities.
  • Schedule appointments with new and existing customers.
  • Regular maintenance of opportunity tracking sheets and forecast reporting.
  • Attend networking events and industry related social events.
  • Commit to continual education of available products and techniques within the sign industry.
  • Provide necessary take offs, scope clarifications, comprehensive breakdown and understanding of project to produce estimates and RFP submittal.
  • Collaborate with members of sales management, marketing, finance, estimating, production, and installation teams to ensure proposal content is complete, accurate, and timely.
  • Responsible for leading cross-functional collaboration between estimating, PM, sales, production and install teams, and outsourced partners for successful delivery of projects.
  • Responsible for customer signed approvals for designs and proposals.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers post sale to ensure delivery of sold products and services and resolve issues or scope gaps.
  • Deliver excellent customer service both internally with coworkers and externally with clients.
  • Travel to job sites for meetings, surveys, installations, bid deliveries as needed.
  • Responsible for meeting client needs and ensuring client satisfaction.

  • Ability to learn company products, services and processes timely and effectively.

Desired Experience:

  • 2 years previous sales or project management experience within the visual communication industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, design intent and construction documents.
  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding yearly sales goals.
  • Proven experience managing client expectations and projects.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Successfully completed negotiations and sales presentations.
  • Established relationships with new customers and professional network.

Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions:

Standing/Sitting/Walking: Approximately 60% of time is spent seated while working at a desk. Balance of time (Approximately 40%) is spent standing or moving around work area and job sites.

Speaking/Hearing: Clear diction and acute hearing are necessary for effective communication with customers, vendors and co-workers.

Vision: Corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary to effectively use the computer screens. Ability to discern colors in various shades.

Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to twenty pounds when moving office supplies and equipment.

Kneeling/Crouching: Ability to kneel or crouch when accessing files or moving around job sites.

Reaching/Handling: Good manual dexterity for computer keyboard use and the ability to retrieve and work with appropriate paperwork, equipment and supplies.
