Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Manager of Equipment Supervisor, the Maintenance Worker/Equipment Operator II will complete various construction projects as assigned. Projects may include equipment operation, road maintenance, equipment maintenance, steel fabrication, equipment hauling & material transporting; supervision of the job site, including the equipment, personnel, and job safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete needed construction and repair projects.
- Assist with construction clean up and other construction activities, as assigned.
- Operate heavy equipment on new and old construction and road maintenance projects.
- Perform minor vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Install fences, barbed wire, cyclone, wood, construction, and silt.
- Install and maintain erosion control BMPs per specifications.
- Perform clearing and re-vegetation work on Tribal lands, tree, brush, and weed removal.
- Able to interact professionally with a diverse population.
- Ability to read plans and set grades.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Possess high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Class A license required.
- Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, hammers, saws, screwdrivers, drills, rakes, etc.
- Ability to perform simple electrical and plumbing projects.
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to perform tasks independently.
- Able to interact professionally will all departments.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in construction, mechanical, or tradesman field preferred.
- Previous heavy equipment operation experience preferred.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license and be insurable under the Tribe’s insurance policy.

- Preference in filling vacancies shall be given first to qualified Tuolumne Me-Wuk Community Council Members and then to enrolled Native Americans of any federally recognized tribe.
