We are seeking a Junior Security Analyst to join our team in Fort Wayne, IN. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and security-focused professional with 3-5 years of experience in IT security, patch management, or a related field. As part of our team, you will assist in monitoring security operations, managing patching processes, and providing desktop support when needed.
This is an ITAR-regulated facility—applicants must be U.S. citizens. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Key Responsibilities
Security Monitoring & Incident Response
- Continuously monitor security logs across systems and applications to detect potential threats.
- Identify actionable security issues, escalate critical concerns, and assist in resolving lower-risk incidents.
- Respond to security incidents, document findings, and contribute to investigations.
Patch Management & Vulnerability Remediation
- Assist in the identification, testing, and deployment of patches for operating systems and applications.
- Coordinate and track patch cycles to ensure timely updates and vulnerability mitigation.
- Monitor for missing patches, prioritize issues based on severity, and work with IT teams to resolve security gaps.
Endpoint Security Management
- Support the maintenance of endpoint security solutions, including antivirus software, firewalls, and endpoint detection tools.
- Ensure endpoint security agents are up to date and troubleshoot related issues.
Desktop Support
- Provide technical support for software, hardware, and system access issues.
- Assist with setting up new devices and ensuring compliance with security policies.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and system errors to maintain operational efficiency.
System Auditing & Compliance
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices.
- Review and verify log retention settings and manage allow lists and blocklists for access control.
Vulnerability Scanning & Reporting
- Perform scheduled vulnerability scans on networked systems and applications.
- Analyze scan results, categorize vulnerabilities, and assist in developing remediation strategies.
- Generate reports to track remediation progress and improve security visibility.
Software & Hardware Maintenance
- Assist in managing software and hardware inventories, identifying outdated or unsupported systems.
- Work with IT teams to update or replace software to maintain security compliance.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with senior analysts and IT teams to enhance security policies and procedures.
- Stay informed on emerging threats and security trends, recommending proactive measures.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in IT security, patch management, or related fields.
- Familiarity with endpoint security, vulnerability assessment, and patching tools.
- Basic understanding of network security and firewall configurations.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
- Certifications such as Security , CySA , or equivalent (preferred but not required).
- Experience working in an IT or security operations environment.
- Exposure to industrial control systems security is a plus.
