Our client is seeking a financial leader to take on the role of Controller with the potential for CFO-level contributions. This position will oversee all accounting and financial operations while aligning financial strategies with the company's long-term goals. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, fast-learning, and hands-on; capable of managing both strategic initiatives and daily financial tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Develop and execute financial strategies in collaboration with the executive team.
- Negotiate with banks to secure favorable financial arrangements.
- Provide actionable insights on job costing, WIP schedules, and project profitability.
Operational Management:
- Partner with operations to streamline processes and improve profitability.
- Oversee financial reporting, annual budgets, and forecasting.
- Maintain compliance with industry-specific accounting principles, tax regulations, and risk management practices.
Team Leadership:
- Manage a team of up to six finance professionals, including leveraging offshore resources.
- Foster a results-driven and collaborative team culture.
- Lead initiatives to automate and optimize financial processes using tools like Power BI and Excel.
Executive Partnership:
- Work closely with the President to enhance management execution and align strategic goals with operational realities.
- Balance hands-on execution with leadership responsibilities, managing upwards effectively.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Handle business insurance processes and potentially assist with fleet management.
- Support accounts payable, receivable, and cash flow optimization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- 10 years of accounting and financial management experience, including project and construction accounting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, PivotTables), and financial modeling.
- Proven experience managing teams in a results-oriented environment.

Salary : $150,000 - $170,000
