SUMMARY:
Under general direction from the Local Officer Human Resources, the HR Generalist is responsible for the execution of transactional processes along the whole employee lifecycle from hire to retire as well as for selected knowledge based / advisory HR services in the United States / Canada to contribute to the achievement of regional and local objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the policies, procedures, goals, and standards of TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc.
- Assist Payroll Manager in running bi-weekly payroll and completing all timekeeping reminders.
- Supports in local salary review process in alignment with local HR Management
- Conduct exit interviews with employees leaving the company to assess overall success of employment relationship and opportunities for improvement
- Coordinate and complete all government, regulation, and compliance documents
- Assist as needed in immigration matters, including temporary work visas, and permanent residence paperwork
- Supports Local Officer Human Resources to recommend, develop and update HR Policies and Procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge/interpretation/changes of related human resources laws and regulations as well as commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the human resources field
- Maintain the confidential nature of all employee and company proprietary and privileged information used or observed in the course of performing job duties
- Prepare reports, charts, graphs and other statistical information including manipulating and analyzing HR Data as needed or requested by management for workforce planning and reporting purposes
- Work with and support Regional Officer Human Resources on assigned projects and contribute to team objectives
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years experience in Human Resources; Payroll experience desired
- Experience with SuccessFactors and ADP is a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Bachelor Degree with an emphasis on Human Resources Management or Business is preferred
- Must be articulate, professional, and be customer service oriented
- Must be able to coordinate multiple and changing priorities
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skill

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
In an office environment, the individual must be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods of time. Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Individual must be able to verbally communicate with visitors, employees, and callers. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery and computers.
