Job Title: Inside Sales Representative

Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as an Inside Sales Representative. If you have a passion for sales, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, we would love to hear from you!
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inbound Sales: Handle inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
- Quotation Preparation: Prepare quotations in response to customer inquiries, ensuring adherence to controlled prices, discounts, terms, conditions, and sales policies.
- Order Review & Entry: Review customer purchase orders for correct pricing, discounts, terms, and conditions, and ensure proper entry into the computer system.
- Customer Communication: Provide timely and proactive communication regarding order and project status with customers.
- Order Status & Expedite Requests: Respond to all customer requests for sales order status, expedited emergency shipments of valves and parts, documentation, and bills of materials.
- Order Processing Oversight: Ensure timely and accurate processing of orders, maintaining ownership from order entry to shipping, invoicing, and cash receipt.
- Complaint Management: Document customer complaints and assist in resolving issues.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Assist other departments in resolving problems related to customer sales and service.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain all records and files associated with inside sales activities.
- Performance Audits & Recommendations: Audit personal performance and recommend objectives and performance standards.
- Special Projects: Develop, prepare, monitor, and maintain special projects as requested.
- Lead Generation: Compile lists of prospective customers from various sources including trade shows, ad inquiries, direct mail responses, internet research, etc.
- Lead Follow-Up: Make outbound follow-up calls and emails to potential and existing customers to qualify leads and sell products and services.
- Objection Handling: Overcome technical and business objections from prospective customers.
- Sales Order Preparation: Emphasize salable features, quote prices, and credit terms, and prepare sales orders.
- Delivery Estimates: Estimate delivery dates to customers based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Data Entry: Enter new customer data and sales data for current customers into the computer database.
- Collaboration with Outside Sales: Work with outside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Trade Show Attendance: Attend trade shows as needed.
- Workplace Standards: Adhere to established work rules and maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work area.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline preferred; or 1-3 years of related sales experience.
- Experience: 2-3 years of inside sales experience, preferably in the valve business.
- Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, multi-task, and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
- Strong written communication skills for reports and business correspondence.
