Our client, a leading consumer goods brand, is seeking an entrepreneurial Vice President of Product Development & Marketing to join their team in Huntington Beach, CA. Reporting to the EVP of Sales & Marketing, you will drive strategic marketing initiatives and lead product innovation to elevate the brand, enhance customer experience, and support market expansion. This role is 65% focused on managing the entire product development lifecycle, so the ideal candidate will have a proven background in innovation, a track record of launching successful tangible products, and experience leading large-scale marketing campaigns. Success in this role requires being very hands-on , with a strong focus on the end-user, excelling in a fast-paced environment, and developing and mentoring the Marketing Team to drive continual brand growth. VP of Product Development & Marketing (Hands-On, Full Product Lifecycle Exp. Req.) Responsibilities
- Develop & implement the company’s long-term marketing strategies
- Lead the entire new product lifecycle (65%) while overseeing day-to-day marketing activities (35%)
- Oversee brand management, digital, content, and advertising efforts
- Mentor and develop high-performing marketing and creative teams (3 direct reports)
- Create B2B retail marketing strategies for industrial & big-box channels
- Partner with suppliers & contract manufacturers for consumer insights and market research
- Ideate with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and product differentiation
- Conduct profitability analysis & assess market size, share, and competition
- Translate consumer insights and market needs into product enhancements
- Forecast business needs & identify new opportunities based on research and feedback from sales
- Develop and manage partnerships to support product marketing
- Manage marketing budgets, set KPIs, and evaluate campaign performance
