What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUPPORT DESK TECHNICIAN III position at Tyler Independent School District?
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Diploma, Associates degree;
2. Apple Certification required;
3. CompTIA, Microsoft or other technology certifications;
4. Three years technology service experience;
5. Technology call center experience;
6. Broad knowledge of various operating systems;
7. Strong knowledge of MS Office;
8. Ability to listen and communicate troubleshooting steps over the phone;
9. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Receive phone calls from and assist end-users to resolve software problems.
2. Service and repair apple products and maintain apple certification.
3. Work cooperatively with end-users to detect and resolve hardware problems.
4. Communicate with software and hardware vendors to resolve end-user problems.
5. Communicate with Director of Information Systems to resolve end-user problems with enterprise applications (TEAMS, CIMS, SEMS and etc.) and internally developed programs.
6. Communicate with Application Support Specialists to resolve end-user problems with external applications.
7. Process technology related work orders and assign priorities for TSC Technicians.
8. Assist TSC Technicians with the upgrade, configuration and repair of equipment in the TSC as phone traffic allows.
9. Evaluate and recommend technology repairs or replacement based on service costs. 10. Assist in the training of newly hired technicians
11. Maintain service logs and response time data to identify areas for improvement in products and services.
12. Oversee software licenses and materials to ensure compliance with copyright laws. 13. Manage technology inventory and equipment assignments
14. Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerized reports, records and other documentation as required.
15. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local Board policy.
16. Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position and as assigned.
