Position: Quality Inspector
We are looking for an individual who understands the quality concept, standard and practice while being technically oriented and with great attention to detail. In this key position, the QA Inspector is responsible for inspection of product both incoming and outgoing, sample inspections, and in-process inspections. They will do so using Fermator group quality standards and procedures for USDE in accordance with the local requirements of the clients and code compliance. The QA Inspector will perform the daily quality operations or initiatives to maintain the product quality; plus, to help identify the causes and solutions in the event of claims or defects.
Key roles and responsibilities
- Perform measurement/visual inspections on incoming materials using measuring tools such as dial calipers, protractors, micrometers, pin gages, etc.
- Perform in-process inspection of production assemblies prior to packaging.
- Maintain inspection records and documentation for USDE and customer supply chain requirements.
- Review nonconforming materials for rework/return/use-as-is disposition.
- Maintain certification of all testing gages and equipment.
- Assist with internal audits, supplier audit, and customer audits.
- Assist with customer claims or supplier quality audit.
- Assist in the development of audit root cause, corrective action, and preventative action plans.
- Enforce USDE standards to maintain quality parts.
- Other duties and/or special project may be assigned as required.
Skills and experience
- Strong experience using inspection equipment like digital calipers, micrometers, scales, and other measuring tools.
- Must be familiar with CAD or CAM drawings.
- Experience in various manufacturing processes involving CNC machinery and assembly techniques.
- ISO9001 experience a plus
- Working knowledge of an ERP system, Epicor knowledge preferred.
- Ability to work alone on daily tasks but be an active part of the entire Quality/Production team.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment, with various temperatures, noises and fumes .
- Capable of bending, twisting, squatting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for long periods of time while performing physically demanding repetitive job tasks.
- 3 years working experience in manufacturing or industrial operation or related industry.
- Organized, results driven, dependable, and accountable.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Proven experience as quality inspector or relevant role.

- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms frequently.
- Climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently.
- Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds seldom.
- Vision abilities required are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Hours:
- 7am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday. (Occasional OT)
