The Application Administrator is responsible for the ongoing operations and administration of applications and systems managed by the Application Team. Supporting 3rd party applications including enterprise intranet & help desk, and ancillary banking systems platforms. Responsibilities include participation in software installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and patches of all assigned applications. This position also ensures collaboration between members of IT groups to ensure connectivity and compatibility among systems and keeps departments informed of any issues or outages.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for application administration, customization, upgrades, releases and patches to designated application systems. Also ensuring adequate testing and training when needed.
- Conducts technical research on system upgrades to determine hardware and software functionality and compatibility with current systems.
- Responsible for evaluating, troubleshooting and resolving issues of a higher technical nature, both routine and emergency, ensuring root cause is identified and documented. This will require effective communication and strong collaboration with other technical staff, users and vendors.
- Coordinating and liaising with IT groups and other relevant business units regarding system changes. This position will research proposed changes and communicate system parameter options and capabilities to all stakeholders.
- Works with Project Managers, Business System Analysts and others to coordinate implementation of projects affecting any application or system.
- Responsible for ensuring periodic programs and processes are run correctly and as scheduled for all applications and systems.
- Responsible for running backups, jobs and processes, as well as content and timing of processes. Ensures scheduled jobs are properly setup and run as expected.
- Provides Tier 3 technical support to other departments within the Credit Union for assigned applications.
- Provides on-call support on a rotating schedule or as needed for emergency situations, including outside of normal business hours.
- Works with business unit leaders to ensure user access and privilege levels are appropriate and consistent.
- Responsible for ensuring vulnerability remediation for all applications are completed in proper SLA timeframes.
- A key participant in planning and execution of annual full Disaster Recovery testing.
- Utilize IT helpdesk software for incoming work and update the Knowledge Base as needed.
- Monitor licenses and service agreements related to assigned applications.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and far vision, color vision, and ability to focus.
