An Insurance Property Appraiser Manager leads and oversees a team of contractor appraisers, ensuring accurate valuations of property for insurance claims and other purposes. The Appraisal Manager will supervise the appraisal processes, review reports, and collaborate with various departments to establish property values, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Oversee and manage a team of contractor appraisers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
- Appraisal Process Management: Ensure proper execution of appraisal processes, from initial inspection to final report, adhering to regulations and best practices.
- Appraisal Review: Review appraisal reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Onboarding: Onboard new contractor appraisers, including training and developing skills to help achieved desired Service Level Agreements from our clients.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and implement appraisal policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and quality assurance.
- Market Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes that may impact property valuations.
- Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of valuation methodologies (sales comparison, cost, income approaches) and be proficient in using appraisal software and databases.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and industry standards related to property appraisal.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure accurate and consistent valuations.
The following skills are integral to success in this role:
- Certified Appraiser
- 15 years of insurance experience
- 7 years in personal lines appraisals
- Familiar with Xactimate and Xactanalysis
- Exceptional at organization, documentation, and communication
- Remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
- Document files fastidiously to ensure transparency and to foster teamwork, sharing job management responsibilities with the operations team in a CSR capacity
- Growth-minded – sharing ideas with operations to improve process efficiencies, and foster open communication, etc.
- Computer literate and proficient in using Microsoft Office, various browsers, and PDF programs. Ability to learn our Job Management System
