The Lab Technician will test, analyze, record and determine acceptability of raw silica sand and resin coated sand products with established US Silica test procedure and Coated Sands Solutions SOPs.
Essential Job Functions:
- Follow all established safety rules and guidelines, LOTO, SOP’s, Respirator, JSA, Confined space, Fall protection and proper PPE (Training provided).
- Test and analyzes raw silica sand and resin coated sand products in accordance with established procedures. Completes certificate of Analysis.
- Inspects starts, operates and stops all lab equipment and machinery in accordance with established limits and procedures.
- Cleans and maintains orderliness of facilities.
- Read, understand and maintain all QC required records and record data.
- Communicate with Process operator and team lead all lab results as required by US Silica standards.
- Communicates with supervisor, team lead, and operator to ensure continuity of operations.
- Completes required reports and turns them in at designated times and places.
- Adapt to additional duties as needed, cross train.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Associates Degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- High level of safety and quality required.
- Ability to operate automatic and manual samplers, screens, ro-tap machines, hot tensile machines, misc. lab equipment and materials, scales, etc.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to proactively work with other team members.
- Computer knowledge required.
