What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hospital Assistant 1 - Emergency Department position at UC Davis Health?
The Emergency Department Hospital Assistant will primarily provide support for the Main ED and ED Overflow Areas including property management/loss. This position also performs other duties to support the Emergency Department as assigned.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR or UCDH-issued CPR Certification
- One (1) year experience in an inpatient hospital setting.
- Ability to read and write in English language.
- Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and/or mouse to appropriately utilize healthcare systems for documentation, communication, training/education and completion of schedule.
- Oral communication skills to effectively deal with patients, visitors, patients, and staff.
- Ability to maintain courteous, tactful relationships with visitors, patients, and clinicians.
- Ability to adjust workload under changing conditions.

- This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
