Essential Duties:
- Monitor adherence to set standards (i.e.: SOPs, batch instructions, specifications, etc.).
· Responsible for assisting with product testing regarding, microbial, identity, purity, potency and strength, including validation of product shelf life.
- Keep QC Team and Director of Quality & Regulatory Compliance fully aware of new developments and issues in GMP/Quality Control.
- Initiate/conduct material review processes when necessary and make disposition decisions in a timely manner.
- Keep all records current and up to date including scanning COA’s and SDS’s and maintaining file system.
- Responsible for Good Manufacturing Practices and quality of products. Make recommendations to improve Product Quality/Product Assurance/GMP standards.
- Initiate/conduct material review processes when necessary and make disposition decisions in a timely manner.
- Monitor facilities and storage areas to ensure GMPs are being followed.
- Fill in for other Quality Team members when necessary.
- Adhere to confidentiality agreements.
· Responsible to report any and all, major or minor food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
· Promote food safety and quality awareness throughout the organization.
· Assist with other projects or duties as assigned.
- Verify that incoming components are sampled and received according to GMP/QC specifications and SOP’s.
- Work alongside Laboratory Technician and assist to keep laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
- Assist Laboratory in keeping all records current and up to date including daily laboratory checks and weekly monitoring of water quality.
- Assist laboratory with monitoring and establishing standards for products, product specifications, and processes.
- Responsible for quality inspection/sampling/receiving duties and acceptance or rejection of product and product shipments (incoming from vendors) in a timely manner.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- · Biology or Chemistry degree preferred (Associates or Bachelor) or 2 - 4 years of field experience in quality control or laboratory position preferred.
- Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and standard office equipment (copier, fax, calculator, etc.) is required.
· Function efficiently in fast paced environment.
· Ability to wear PPE when required.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects at one time.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· The associate will frequently be required to stand for long periods of time and to occasionally sit, bend, or stoop to perform certain tasks.
· The associate will frequently be required to make coordinated hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects.
· The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
· The associate must be able to wear personal PPE, including gloves, masks, etc., when required.
Work Environment
· While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
· Associates in the Animal Plant may be exposed to raw ingredients and food allergens (milk, egg, peanut, tree nut, fish, shellfish, soy, wheat).
Work Hours
This is a full-time position, with a generally set schedule (1st, 2nd or 3rd shift). However, the associate may be required to work overtime or work a flexible schedule based on operational need.
Required Education and Experience
· A high school diploma or GED (preferred)
