Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Loan Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding members through the loan application process, assessing their financial needs, and providing tailored loan solutions. You will work closely with members to ensure they understand their options and comply with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in loan origination and home equity loans.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and analyze members' financial situations to determine appropriate loan products.
- Guide members through the loan application process, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and submitted.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and compliance requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with members, and other stakeholders to generate new business opportunities.
- Utilize software for loan processing and management.
- Conduct credit analysis to assess borrower eligibility and risk factors.
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the loan process, addressing any questions or concerns promptly.
- Travels and assists at other branch locations, as necessary.
- Maintain current knowledge of credit union products and services and lending regulations and policies.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar financial sales role.
- Strong knowledge of loan origination processes and home equity loans.
- Familiarity with banking operations and financial products.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building member relationships.
- Ability to analyze financial data effectively for credit assessment.
- Proficiency in using software tools such as Loancierge for loan management.
- Understanding of Fair Housing regulations and compliance standards.
