About the Role:
As Assistant Head Flour Miller at UFM, you will be responsible for assisting our Head Miller with overseeing the 7500 cwt. Mill department. You will lead maintenance in the facility, direct accountability for maintenance for the Mill, Elevator, Pack, Warehouse and Laboratory equipment, and develop preventative maintenance plans with department heads.
Key responsibilities include managing maintenance technicians on call and maintenance schedules throughout the facility, coordinating with department heads on parts needed and or outside contractors if necessary, scheduling employees, raw materials, and ingredients to ensure productivity, maintaining product standards, equipment accuracy, and calibrations, handling purchasing and installation of new or used equipment, tools, and other items needed to perform jobs efficiently, and working with the QA/QC Lab and QS Management in maintaining a superior product and ensuring all products conform to specifications.
The ideal candidate will have a high school education, advanced degree or certifications, or equivalent trade experience, with 1 years' experience managing direct reports in milling operations or maintenance. Excellent interpersonal skills are required, as well as ability to work self-managed, Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, and familiarity with computerized maintenance/work order systems.
