Job Description:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for a 13-week contract position at a reputable healthcare facility in Davenport, IA. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of recent experience in sterile processing and be proficient in all aspects of decontamination, sterilization, and equipment handling.
Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate, clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Ensure proper functioning and cleanliness of all sterilization and processing equipment
- Maintain accurate sterilization and inventory records
- Follow proper procedures for instrument identification and handling
- Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines
- Collaborate with OR staff to meet surgical instrumentation needs
- Monitor and manage supply levels in the sterile processing department
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification in Sterile Processing (CBSPD or CRCST preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an SPT in a healthcare setting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
