The Built Environment Product Manager – TIC (Testing, Inspection, Certification) Building and Construction is tasked with developing the market approach strategy and product lifecycle roadmap for new and existing service line(s) for Testing, Inspection and Certification services within the Building and Construction segment in North America. The incumbent will also work closely with clients and industry stakeholders to identify specific needs and develop new services that will fuel long-term business growth for the organization. Through customer feedback and industry participation, the PM will be responsible for the roadmap, overall go-to-market strategy, testing the viability of the product/service, and successfully launching the product/service within specified timelines. They will work collaboratively across all business functions necessary to launch and deliver new and existing services throughout the lifecycle. This includes working in continuous coordination with Engineering, Operations, Quality Assurance, Sales, Marketing, Client Services and with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Develop, champion and execute new service strategies that ensure profitable growth and meets the businesses’ desired goals.
- Own all product management functions, including but not limited to; product mix assessment, market share evaluation, competitive analysis, commercialization of new concepts and market acceptance of new services.
- Lead business case development for new organic growth projects
- Collaborates closely with Sales to conduct client discovery sessions and collect real-time client feedback to understand market needs, market trends, and UL’s unique value proposition in the industry.
- Prioritize global service types into a product roadmaps that are aligned with the Built Environment’s technology and research roadmap.
- Actively engages with trade associations, regulators, specifiers, and other industry stakeholders to identify synergies, address concerns, and share UL expertise.
- Ensure new product development remains on time and on budget.
- Evaluate, advocate for and set key product priorities in line with the business strategy and objectives.
- Understand and manage to profitability goals/metrics
- Define pricing & competitive positioning based on various regional differentiators.
- Implement market research strategies based on customer and market requirements.
- Recommends new services for development and engages with Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Marketing to develop and launch new offerings. Implement the tools and processes needed to define the go to market strategy and vision for new services.
- Drive continuous improvement in Product Management by examining internal processes and identifying and executing on opportunities to streamline and create synergies throughout the business unit.
- Facilitate Sales training and support for successful product / service launches.
- Work with Cross-Functional Teams to identify initiative investment requirements and develop capital resource requests as required.
- Develop and coordinate executive presentations and de-briefings
- Work closely with Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing, Professional Services and Customer Service groups to develop world-class sales tools, templates, product collateral, white papers, customer case studies, and sales presentations.
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, speed, innovation, excellence and fun while continuously elevating the quality and caliber of the business unit.
- This position has a hybrid schedule to Northbrook, IL.
- 5-7 years of product management or new business development experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, related field or comparable work experience
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with a global team
- Project Management certification is a plus
- Experience in building products and materials industry
- Ability to travel up to 15% domestically

Salary : $115,000 - $150,000
