Ullico Casualty Group, LLC. is actively recruiting an Operations Analyst, P&C for our Operations Department. This position is located in our Silver Spring, MD office. This person will support the Casualty Groups Operations and Billing efforts by responding to inquiries from internal and external customers by analyzing, interpreting and providing a variety of financial information, data, technology, and compliance information. Provide varied administrative support to facilitate effective office operations. Provide financial information for Ullico Casualty Company and affiliated companies. Prepare annual and quarterly statutory financial statements. Ensure that data recorded in general ledger and underlying insurance systems are accurate. Coordinate and prepare state regulatory filings.
The duties/responsibilities of this position are as follows
- Coordinate with other departments regarding operational needs, plans and delivery.
- Act as departmental liaison to furnish and obtain required information. Establish and maintain professional relationship with external departments and internal staff.
- Use software, including Excel and internal systems, to analyze various data points and provide information to internal and external customers.
- Working understanding of insurance billing and financial processes.
- Process payments, receipts and wires, including entering transactions into Lawson, Admin systems or reviewing existing transactions.
- Review and analyze insurance system reports contacting underwriting and claims managers to investigate and research large and unusual items.
- Data analysis to determine market and internal business trends and performance.
- Recon of complex Financial and Client Demographic data and deliverables.
- Preparation of reports, reconciliations, financial, and billing statements for internal and external clients.
- Provide documentation requested by internal parties for SOX Reviews, Audits, Enterprise Risk Management and other Compliance functions and oversight.
- Assist in developing applications to streamline operational processes and procedures, including participation to planning meetings with IT and testing of new and existing application modifications.
- Support budget preparation and expense tracking.
- Communication with outside vendors, key clients and business relationships.
- Strong cross disciplinary and multi-tasking skills and ability. Perform other similar and related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will have an Associate’s Degree and at least three years of billing and operations experience required. Exceptional written, organizational, communication, and presentation skills are also necessary. The ideal candidate should be a pro-active self-starter who is comfortable working independently, can think outside of the box, isn’t afraid to make suggestions and can build and foster strong relationships. Attention to detail and ability to follow-through are essential. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat is required.
Physical/Mental Requirements
Work requires only minor physical exertion and/or physical strain. Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements.
