Senior Loan Servicing Assistant

The Senior Loan Servicing Assistant plays a vital role in managing administrative tasks associated with loan processing from origination to closure. This position ensures compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards while supporting both internal departments and external clients. Key responsibilities include conducting file reviews and audits, managing insurance requirements, reconciling accounts, and inputting accurate loan information into the core systems. This position is in Bethesda and is fully in office. The hours are 9am-5pm Monday through Friday and the salary is dependent upon experience - up to $72k. This is a direct hire role.

• Prepare and issue notices related to tax and insurance deficiencies, as well as non-sufficient funds (NSF).
• Initiate the setup process for new, renewed, or modified loans in the bank's system and assemble corresponding loan documentation files.
• Respond to servicing inquiries by providing information on payments, resolving errors, and assisting with transaction-related questions.
• Perform detailed loan audits and review documentation to ensure completeness and compliance.
• Serve as a Notary for loan satisfactions and various banking documents.
• Monitor compliance with insurance requirements, particularly flood insurance, and process disbursements for escrow-managed accounts.
• Assist in the daily scanning of loan transaction tickets.
• Maintain regulatory compliance through accurate tracking of error resolutions and information requests, ensuring proper document retention.
• Review and reconcile data related to tax services, flood certification compliance, and overdue taxes.
• Analyze and act on daily loan servicing reports.
• Provide backup support for team members and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in bank procedures, policies, and lending products.
• Contribute to various departmental projects and tasks as required.
  
  

• Deep understanding of mortgage lending products, bank policies, and industry regulations, including audit and reporting standards.
• Proven ability to evaluate and resolve complex financial scenarios with sound judgment.
• Demonstrated success in business development and building lasting client relationships.
• Familiarity with sales incentive strategies and their application in financial services.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; capable of engaging effectively with senior executives and clients.
• Proficiency in accounting principles for conducting financial reviews and reports.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with an aptitude for identifying service opportunities and delivering compelling presentations.
  
  

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business or a related field, along with a minimum of 4 years of experience in mortgage servicing or lending.
• Equivalent experience of 8 years in the industry may be considered in lieu of formal education.
