Job Description

The Operations & Information Management (OIM) Department of the Isenberg School of Management invites applications for two full-time Lecturer positions, non-tenure track, in Information Systems and Data Management to start in February or September 2025.

This full-time position requires teaching six course sections per academic year, plus providing departmental service. Teaching responsibilities include multiple graduate level sections of the courses Strategic Information Management, Data Management for Business Leaders, Data Science for Business, or other courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels as needed. Expertise in spreadsheets, computer programming, and business analytics tools is desired.

The initial appointment will be for two years, with renewal based on performance. Lecturers at UMass Amherst enjoy significant benefits and status under the negotiated faculty contract (see Article 21 of the MSP/MTA/NEA contract linked on this page: http://www.umass.edu/provost/faculty-staff-resources/policies-contracts). The Lecturer will join a team of faculty noted for excellence and innovation in undergraduate and graduate education. The successful candidate will work with faculty and advising staff to assess student outcomes and foster student success.

Requirements

Prior to the start date, candidates must have a master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in an area such as Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline, with a doctorate degree preferred. Demonstrated ability, or potential, to teach information systems and data management courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in face-to-face and online formats is required.

Application Instructions

Along with the application, please submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, diversity statement, and contact information for three (3) professional reference. While the applications can be reviewed until the position is filled, applicants should apply by the priority deadline of October 31, 2024 to ensure consideration.

We will also favorably consider experience overcoming or helping others overcome barriers to an academic career and degree.
