About UMOM New Day Centers: Founded in 1964, UMOM is Arizona's largest provider of services for families experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to end family homelessness by restoring hope and rebuilding lives. With an annual operating budget of $20 million dollars, UMOM provides shelter, supportive services, and housing programs to families and individuals experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County. UMOM serves over 15,000 unique individuals across all our services annually, including those families receiving support at the Family Housing Hub, Maricopa County's family coordinated entry system.
Position Description: The Donor Database and Philanthropy Coordinator will be responsible for UMOM's donor database administration and provide support for Philanthropy Team events and campaigns.
Donor Database: This individual will lead initiatives related to fundraising analytics, working with key staff and stakeholders across UMOM to understand data needs and develop actionable insights. They will be responsible for managing all donor information systems and fundraising platforms, as well as the analysis and reporting of all data related to the Philanthropy department. This role will provide project management support for UMOM's fundraising initiatives.
Philanthropy Support: This individual will work with key UMOM staff to support Philanthropy events including but not limited to the Spring 5k, Fall Gala, donor appreciation event, and donor tabling events. They will work with the Philanthropy Team to support successful campaigns including but not limited to, Giving Tuesday, Arizona Gives Day, EOY and summer campaigns. This individual will support the Philanthropy Team with corporate and other donor research.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages all technical aspects of a comprehensive donor management system, including creating and managing gift and donor types as well as creating contact reports.
- Establishes and maintains best CRM practices and procedures including highly accurate donor data that effectively track key information inclusive of all cultivation and solicitation activities.
- Implements workflows to maximize the efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency of philanthropic impact in alignment with the identified goals for financial stability.
- Creates and distributes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to philanthropic activities.
- Monitors standards related to the importance of data quality, data completeness, and data timeliness.
- Supervises staff, including training, direction of work, appraisal of productivity and efficiency, delivery of feedback and coaching, and disciplinary action, as necessary.
- Provides support to direct response campaigns, segmentation and analytics for appeals, newsletters, and other communication functions, including integration with social media activities.
- Assists Philanthropy team with online donations, event registration and other third-party fundraising platforms.
- Supports high touch donor cultivation, including New Day Giving Society and Board of Directors.
- Trains staff and volunteers on relevant database procedures.
- Actively participates in the community and be an ambassador for the organization.
- Supports fundraising events, especially through leading the donor development of attendees.
- Completes daily processing of all donations and funds received for UMOM which includes data entry, coding, and reporting.
- Manages the acknowledgement process for all donations $1,000 and above by preparing thank you letters and obtaining the appropriate signatures.
- Completes month-end processing with the Finance Department.
- Creates Executive dashboards and queries for donor and donation information, as needed and sometimes on shrt notice, to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications and Competency Requirements:
Experience and Education
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- Bachelor's degree, strongly preferred
- Minimum three years of professional experience in a similar field, with at least three years of experience in relevant roles (e.g. CRM management, fundraising, development, or marketing/sales)
- Database management skills with contemporary relational databases, including administrative configuration, reporting, dashboards, and data quality skills. Software development background useful but not required
- Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of non-profit/social sector; experience working with underserved or disadvantaged populations is preferred
Computer skills
- Excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite and CRM platforms; experience with donor management CRMs (ex. Virtuous/Classy) strongly preferred
Compliance
- Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain one
- Ability to clear the Central Registry Screening from the Department of Child Safety & Adult Protective Services.
- Ability to comply with and pass all required background check and drug screening requirements, including but not limited to pre-employment and random drug screening as required/requested
- Valid AZ Driver's License and a driving record that falls within UMOM's policy
- 50/100 level of car insurance coverage.

Work Schedule: The typical schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, with occasional nights and weekends, to support the needs of the position and the organization. Schedule flexibility is subject to the discretion of the supervisor.
