What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restorative services Case Manager position at Union Gospel Mission?
Union Gospel Mission of Salem incorporated in 1953 as a church charged with the responsibility of reaching others for Christ. As such, every position at UGM of Salem is an extension of this ministry and therefore a ministry of the Christian faith.
Job Summary:
Provide case management services for high-need clients in crisis; women with physical, mental health and/or developmental disabilities, senior citizens, victims of domestic violence and dual diagnosis.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Manage caseload of individual clients, providing clinical case management, maintaining ongoing client files.
2. Provide crisis intervention information and referral help.
3. Network with community agencies to establish and build positive working relationships to support the client in breaking down housing barriers.
4. Assist clients with the Social Security/ Social Security Disability process.
5. Create client budgets and monitor money management and savings.
6. Attend court hearings for client advocacy when needed.
7. Maintain a positive, encouraging Christian work atmosphere by demonstrating appropriate Customer Service C.A.R.E. standards.

8. Conduct chapel services and/or devotions as needed.
9. Communicate with all Simonka Place staff through established procedures (log notes, email, weekly staffing meetings).
10. Assist in maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the shelter/facility including guest bedrooms and common areas.
11. Provide written reports, etc. to the Restorative Services Administrator and/or the Director of Women's Ministries as requested.
12. Assist with other duties as needed and as directed by the Director of Women's Ministries.
13. Attend various Union Gospel Mission functions and meetings as required, including Simonka Place team meetings.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
1. Strong interpersonal skills.
2. Knowledge of substance abuse and recovery preferred.
3. Good written and oral communication skills.
4. Ability to deal in a respectful, caring manner with clients who are from diverse cultures, emotionally distraught, and exhibit a variety of behavioral issues.
5. Working knowledge of services provided by local social service agencies.
6. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office 2010 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
7. Ability to a fast-paced changing environment, shifting priorities as needed.
8. Valid Oregon Driver's License.
9. Must agree with Union Gospel Mission of Salem's Statement of Faith and Standards of Conduct.
Education: AA or AS (2-year degree) in Social Services or similar field of study preferred.
Experience: Minimum of one to two years in social work and/or similar field experience preferred.
