Position Title: Assistant Chief Financial Officer/Chief Investment Officer
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Status: Salary; Exempt
Position Summary: This position is designed as a strategic role to prepare the incumbent for a future CFO role within the bank. The Assistant CFO will work closely with the CFO, gaining in-depth knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, reporting and strategic planning, while also developing leadership and management skills. Ensure the bank’s accounting procedures and reporting conforms to generally accepted accounting principles. Manage the Bank’s Investment Portfolio.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist CFO in carrying out responsibilities.
- Manage the Bank’s investment portfolio.
- Assist in implementing various projects and initiatives.
- Identify, develop, and implement efficiencies in current processes.
- Assist in maintaining CECL and help manage the ACL process.
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
- Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of the bank and/or branches.
- Development of market performance matrix and Board reporting and dashboards.
- Coordinate the preparation of the bank’s annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
- Work with CFO to develop business models to support bank’s strategic plan.
- Assist in establishing short- and long-range bank goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Serve on ALCO
- Coordinate, with the CFO, the financial audits and participate in regulatory examinations.
- Provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
- Prepare presentations to support and communicate bank and branch results.
- Oversee the preparation of the monthly ALCO reports.
- Perform other duties as may be required or assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business with strong finance experience. Minimum Five (5) years’ experience in a mid-to-senior level finance, controller or CFO position in Banking required. CPA preferred. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. High level of technical computer skills and software knowledge. Project management experience is highly valuable. Valid driver’s license is required. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
Specific Skills Required: Ability to communicate, written and verbal, effectively with people both internally and externally. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with all levels within the organization. Advanced computer skills to include high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Able to handle confidential information and positively represent the company.

Prolonged (90%) sitting and periodic (less than 10% of the time) physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry or push heavy objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds; Constant and repetitive use of arms and hands below shoulder level for computer usage; This position required the individual to perform normal office activities including, but not limited to, lifting, filing and retrieving, operating office equipment, etc. Travel to other locations will be required.
